Having returned to private ADR practice and training after her retirement as a Judge of the Provincial Court of Alberta, Nancy Flatters is a Mediation, Arbitration, ADR and Judicial Trainer (Judicial Settlement Conferencing, Judicial Dispute Resolution, Caseflow and Case-management). Using her 30+ years of experience in dispute resolution and hands-on settlement work as a Judge, she also offers evaluative mediation in custody/parenting disputes with a goal to resolve child-centred disputes early for the sake of the child and with a focus on the child. In addition to evaluative skills, she is certified in Early Brain and Biological Development in Children 0-5 years by the Palix Foundation, Alberta Family Wellness Initiative.

She is a Past-President of the Association for Conflict Resolution, Family Mediation Canada, the Alberta Family Mediation Society and Past-Chair of the Alberta and National ADR Sections of the Canadian Bar Association amongst other positions locally, provincially, and nationally.
