Catherine Wanjiru

Catherine Wanjiru is the Managing Partner at Wanjiru Weru & Company Advocates, a corporate and commercial practice in Nairobi. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Certified Company Secretary, and SDRC-accredited Mediator, she blends transactional depth with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to help organizations govern well, transact securely, and resolve disputes early.

With 13 years of corporate in-house legal experience across property and real estate, manufacturing, media, technology, agriculture, and banking, Catherine’s practice spans board and corporate governance, commercial contracting, employment/HR and discipline, regulatory and data compliance, IP protection, and real estate/sectional titles. She is known for rigorous research and analysis, clear written opinions, board-ready papers and minutes, and practical ADR mechanisms—negotiation playbooks, mediation pathways, and escalation ladders—that keep execution on track.

Her philosophy: when ADR is institutionalized like ESG, it becomes strategy—protecting relationships, de-risking operations, and unlocking enterprise value. Catherine is also a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public. She holds an MBA in Corporate Management and additional training in Data Protection (CIPIT/Strathmore), the Trustee Development Program Kenya, and CHRP.
